During Fall 2026, we will have weekly meetings on Fridays at 12 noon on East Campus. Two of these meetings will be "all-chapter" meetings: every member of Duke AAUP is asked to attend these meetings. The rest are optional brown bag meet-ups to build community and work together on evolving issues throughout the semester.

On Tuesday 9/29, we hosted a screening of The Librarians documentary about book bans and other attacks on academic freedom to school and public libraries followed by a conversation between faculty and librarians about the ongoing impact of cuts to the Duke Libraries budget.
We invite all Duke community members to read more about the Duke Libraries budget cuts, eliminating 40 positions, and the impact on faculty and student research and learning. Please share your comments and experiences with the committee reviewing library leadership.
